Don't Moan, Organise

Don't Moan, Organise

Here's a poster wot I have just made. It's obviously a play on "Don't Mourn, Organise" - but the Irish seem to moan more than mourn. I wanted to encourage those who grumble into their pints to do a little more, particularly now, when we actually have to get up off our arses and try and influence the direction our crumbling country is going in.

It could of course be better, it's more clunky than I would have liked, the colour around the woman in the picture is uneven, but I'd prefer to get something done with the time I have (a Thursday evening watching tv) than hold off twiddling it to perfection. I wanted an image of a woman, because right now it is public sector workers who are under attack and traditionally the public sector has been a big employer of women in Ireland. Think nurses, think teachers. Actually when I think of it both I, my sister and my mother are public sector workers, while my father and my brother work in the private sector. I don't think my experience is unusual. Anyhow, a friend commented he wasn't sure about all this talk about strikes in Ireland. I responded "if not now, when?". Its time to stop moaning, and organise.
