An Anarchist FAQ in Kurdish (and other languages)

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version

One of the joys of working on "An Anarchist FAQ" is when comrades link to the site -- it shows that comrades like it. Even greater is the joy to discover that others think it good enough to translate into another language. Many have started translating it, but some of the sites have disappeared (such as Spanish). The latest translation project is in Kurdish: http://afaqkurdish.wordpress.com/

Unlike some of the earlier translation projects, this one has the advantage of finding AFAQ in its finished state (typos notwithstanding, of course!). Other translations are listed in a specific webpage as part of AFAQ but here are the current (as of today) translation sites:

In Hebrew:

In French:

Une FAQ Anarchiste (francophone)

In Kurdish:

In Japanese:

Hi, how are you guys doing?

Listen, the EU just released a report on terror trends. I was not surprised by the fact only one Islamic terror attack took place in Europe since the whole claim of a global Islamic jihad is a phony fairy tale, but I digress.

There were 40 anarchist terror attacks in Europe last year. FORTY! Fifteen in Spain, Twenty three in Greece, and two in Italy. Firearms, grenades, and some heavy duty equipment have been used against police, government buildings, business buildings, or even indiscriminately on those standing nearby, in Greece. IEDs have been manufactured in disused factories in France and been used in those other countries. Bomb attacks are rising in Spain. In even non-terror attacks, members of political parties with xenophobic inclinations have been stomped and beaten on the streets by anarchists.

I want to ask - would you condone all of this? I am sure most people on this site don't, but why? If these folks believe so much in the welfare of their fellow man, why do they want to see them bombed into pieces? I quote Pier Paolo Pasolini who once told a group of Italian radicals, "You think you have impressed me by beating the police? I hate you as much as I hate your fathers. You are sons of the rich and the police, with whom I have my sympathies, are the sons of the poor."
